Community renewable energy facilities are key to the energy transition. During the summer school we want to explore the intersections of financing, participation, and environmental protection within the planning and implementation of community renewable energy projects.

The summer school provides the space for master's and PhD students to share insights, make new contacts, and gain practical experience. Here you can discuss how and why citizens should participate in financing the energy transition. You can elaborate on the role of environmental protection on e.g. biodiversity and the importance of international frameworks in the planning of renewable energy plants. In a collaborative atmosphere, we will work out how further control mechanisms can be created.

Main goals of the SummerSchool Energy are:

  • Fostering international exchange and sharing insights in research and practice
  • Working out interfaces of financing, participation and environmental protection in community renewable energy projects
  • Creating a policy brief out of the findings of our summer school
  • Enjoy a fruitful, insightful and fun exchange in the student city of Lüneburg
